Title: Selective oxidation of dimethyl ether to methyl formate at low temperature over trifunctional MoO3-SnO2 catalysts
First author:
Abstract: The MoO3-SnO2 catalysts with different Mo/Sn ratios were prepared by a co-precipitation-impregnation method for highly selective synthesis of methyl formate (HCOOCH3, MF) through dimethyl ether (DME) oxidation. Over the MoO3-SnO2 catalyst of Mo/Sn=1, the MF selectivity of 94.1% was achieved at 433K. NH3-TPD, CO2-TPD and H2-TPR were used to characterize the catalysts. For MoO3-SnO2 catalyst of Mo/Sn=1, the synergy of acid sites, base sites and redox sites played an important role in the titled reaction.
